Writing to you from the Great Metropolis, Manhattan...

working hard on the new Keri Noble record. We are working in a studio called "Cowboy Technical Services" which is in the basement of a wierd old building in Brooklyn, NY. No air-conditioning, either, my friends. Tim Hatfield, our engineer and one of the owners of this place, says that "the sweat gets onto the tracks". He means it in a good way, and he may be right. I am flirting with burnout, having been at this for about 6-7 weeks, but Keri keeps coming up with more songs, and they are good, or as Tim who is from Texas says, "them are good". Wow, this is really going to be a good record. Keri has a big chance here to take her rightful place on the world stage with her writing, singing, and playing, so I am gonna keep punching till we get this together. I'll probably end up in my rightful place as well, which is being boxed out from getting backstage by security once this thing hits. "Wait, I'm Jeff, I'm J.A., the producer!" Big security guy looks down at clipboard and looks blankly back at me. "Good God, I'm married to her!" He mumbles into collar microphone. "Sorry, next" he barks. I've got to face facts, and here's another. I woke up this morning with a Cheek Wrinkle. At first I thought it was just one of those things that happens when you sleep on the pillow edge, but as the day wore on, it did not Go Away. A very fine line, or slit, down the side of my face. As I addressed people, I tried to pull my ears back with my scalp muscles, not sure if it worked. Nor did clenching my jaw muscles. I noticed people's eyes drifting to it as they spoke to me, and their tone changed, I am sure, more pity. I went the other way, tried to incorporate some rhyming into my sentences, I left out letters and word endings, but to no avail............

By the way, as I am writing this, I am next to the concierge dest at my hotel. There is a well-heeled couple badgering the concierge for a dinner spot tonight (It is already 9pm, I'm going to have two deli-express turkey and cheese and call it a day)it sounds like this:

people: "What about Peruvian?"
concierge: "Hmmmmmm......"
people: "Good Peruvian, c'mon, it's new york"
concierge: "There is a nice Thai place......"
people: "do they have Creme Brulee? Good creme brulee!Do you have a restroom?"
concierge: "A guest phone?"

I might sit here for awhile, sipping a Gin and Tonic and listen to the action..............

Sold a "Ghost Party" to a guy in Italy yesterday by the way (CD Baby), I'm international................
